Knife Care

Sacred Bear Knives are forged or ground from high carbon and stainless steels. Knives made of high carbon such as  1095, 1084, 52100, will need some extra care and maintenance to avoid rusting. These knives will rust if not maintained. To care for a Sacred Bear knife, clean it with a rag and soap after use and dry after rinsing. Avoid leaving dirty or wet and do not soak in liquids. After drying, apply a small amount of oil to blade and store in a dry place. You can use mineral or cooking oil for food use knives, and 3-in-1 or gun oil on field-use knives. Many Sacred Bear Knives come with a patina already on the blades which will protect against rust. If you have any questions on care, contact Tory.

Warranty

Each Sacred Bear Knife is backed by a Lifetime Warranty to the purchaser for the life of the knife of “normal use” If the knife is used in a way that is not intended such as prying or hammering and is not specifically designed for that purpose it may not fall under warranty. Rest assured Sacred Bear Knives will work with any customer with any issues that may arise. 

Disclaimer

All Sacred Bear knives are constructed one at a time, by hand. They are not factory made or CNC made. Each knife will have unique features, shaping, and touch marks. These features are some of the many attributes that give a genuinely handmade knife its charm. If you’re looking for a factory knife look and feel, buy a factory made knife. Minor gaps, rub marks, off center tips and touch marks are not considered defects and do not affect the usability of the knife. They will not be considered for warranty replacement or return. Knives with natural, exotic, or unique manmade materials can and will shrink or swell over the life of the knife and are in most cases not considered for warranty replacement. I will do everything to make sure materials are stable and durable before sale and will work with you to fix any material changes. I guarantee my knives to work as intended and to be free of cracks and delaminations. Each blade is heat treated one at a time with attention to detail to create a superior quality and toughness.
